Lynch Autohouse

coachwork

From rebuilding bodies & chassis from the ground up, modifying them for track/off-road use, all the way to simple dent repair jobs.  We guarantee the best possible quality work.  Everybody says they offer the best quality work, yet their work is all performed the same way, everybody uses the same materials as one another, and cars are repaired in the same filthy environment as every other shop.

For us, we have very serious standard operating procedures that we’ve written ourselves.  Rules are not broken, corners are not cut, whether it’s enjoyable for us or not.

All metal work is filed straight, and checked with splines that auto clay markers use to sculpt out cars are also used here to check correct radiuses, nothing is more accurate then a spline for checking bodies as that is what they’re shaped with in the first place.  Speaking of metal works, TIG welding is our chosen method.

We do NOT use conventional polyester based fillers that most call “bondo”.   We use epoxy based aircraft fillers, which we further modify ourselves to meet our specifications. Epoxy has greater strength, better corrosion control, better adhesion, better flexibility, better stability, and better heat resistance.   This all means the chances of shrinking, cracking off during impact, rusting out from underneath, are all substantially reduced.  In fact, we are the only shop in the world that uses this aircraft epoxy filler on cars.

Our primers of choice are top shelf epoxies, used by Boeing and the US navy for battleships and destroyers.  We mention this because it’s of vital importance that the primer does not shrink, or allow moisture penetration which can lead to corrosion.
